I offer a handful of options for shipping, depending on the size of the canvas.

I am excited to be able to offer large works shipped as rolled canvas. This industry-standard makes shipping exponentially cheaper, and is easy and affordable to have re-stretched at your local framing business, often for less than $50.

Canvases are rolled by first carefully removing the canvas from the original frame, then covering in a protective layer of glassine. These two layers are rolled up face-out using a small inner PVC tube for stability, and packed to fit snugly into a shipping tube. These are very affordable to ship, even internationally, which I am excited to offer now too.

International Shipping Rates
(Temporary Flat Fee):

Due to the complex and variable nature of shipping large rolled canvas internationally, I currently use a maximum, insured flat-rate of $350 to ensure your piece is fully covered for transit to the most remote destinations.

I will always shop the best available rate for your specific location (using USPS, FedEx, or DHL). If the actual, final cost of shipping is more than $30 lower than the flat fee you paid, I will automatically issue a refund for the difference once the shipping label has been generated. This ensures you only pay what is necessary to safely get your artwork to you.

(Note: The remaining difference covers specialized tube packaging, handling, and full insurance.)

Shipping Methods:

  • Small Canvases (Stretched, ready-to-hang)
    • Applies to: All artwork where the longest side measures 20 inches or less (e.g., 16×20″, 12×12″)
    • Method: Original artwork is packaged fully stretched, with hardware installed into the wooden stretcher bars to hang by wire (no cheap sawtooth hangers!). Every effort is made to ensure it will be protected in transit, including foam, cardboard and other packing supplies as needed.
    • Cost Rationale: the $25 flat fee covers the full cost of hanging hardware, specialized packing materials, packaging labor and commercial shipping rates.
  • Large Canvases (Rolled)
    • Applies to: All artwork where the longest side exceeds 20 inches (e.g. 12″x36″, 30″x40″ in.)
    • Method: The canvas is carefully removed from its stretcher bars, covered with archival glassine, and rolled with the painted surface facing outward around a sturdy inner core.
    • Packaging: The rolled canvas is placed inside a heavy-duty shipping tube for maximum security.
    • Cost Rationale: The $50 flat rate covers the cost of the specialized shipping tube and premium packing materials along with disassembling and rolling labor. This fee also covers shipping through USPS Priority service.
  • What to Expect for Rolled Canvases
    • Cost Benefit: Shipping your 36×48 canvas rolled saves you the $300-$500 surcharge typically incurred by dimensional weight, making the art accessible and affordable to ship.
    • Re-Stretching: You will need to take the rolled canvas to a local framer or art supplier for re-stretching and mounting. The cost for this service is generally far less than the original shipping penalty for a stretched piece.
    • Border: All rolled canvases include a painted or blank border around the artwork to ensure plenty of material for a clean re-stretch.
